This was one of those pictures I did just to relax amidst much busyness, but it ended up taking a long time. I think it's... steampunk? I dunno; that's one of those terms where people can get very aggressive about what is and what isn't... but I think so. But I love Edwardian fashion, so yeah. Raven's outfit was the most fun, though she's blurring between Edwardian and Victorian... And an old-fashioned version of the R cycle, and brass Cyborg, working-class Beast Boy, begoggled Robin, and Gibson girl Starfire. ^_^
It mainly took so long because I colored everything in a light tan, sepia, and ivory layer before doing the proper colours on top of that. It made a big difference. And it was interrupted by the trip to Ireland, where I didn't bring my markers. The background is airbrush with a texture from a wallpaper border from the thirties, and I, I confess, applied a 'film grain' filter on the computer. I wanted it all to look rather like an old photograph. Someone, make a ragtime remix of the theme song!  Characters copyright DC, picture copyright me. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
