Obviously, this goes with my Five is for Riches
and the title comes from the same fortunetelling rhyme. Like the other picture, I got the urge to do this in the enthusiasm from an awesome climactic episode; with this one it was The Wedding of River Song.
But unlike the other picture, I didn't have the opportunity to finish it within that initial burst of inspiration. I had intended to have it ready before the current season started, because it really is all about the last season, but it took the current season starting to get me enthusiastic enough again to finish it! Ah well. I am liking this season so far. They are laying something very powerful on very thick and I wonder where they could be going with it?...
This is picture I talked about in that To the Moon
; how I got a better likeness of Rory in that one, which I did in a few minutes, than in this one, where I spent a long time and looked at a bunch of references. But I am pleased with the likeness I got of the Doctor here.
One of the reasons it was hard to get myself to get back to work on this is because it had to be colored pencil. I don't use those nearly as much as I used to and find myself a bit at a loss with them. That and they're so messy! I didn't remember them being this messy! But those are some gorgeous colors and intensity they have. I ended up using not too many colors for this, for one thing to make things simpler, but also because I really really love that transition from gold to indigo involving red-browns and purples that I used for the stars. I got the idea from one of the worlds in Super Mario Galaxy 2
