HOLLY IS NOT MISTLETOE by FireFiriel HOLLY IS NOT MISTLETOE by FireFiriel
People need to know! It's unbelievable how many people I've seen drawing holly and calling it mistletoe. Don't let yourself make that mistake!

So many people get these confused!
Though, it always baffles me why people want to kiss under a tree leach anyway.

Hee-hee! This is awesome! Thank you very much for clearing it up. I've seen this happen a lot, too and I admit to making the same mistake before. :giggle:

That very well drawn mistletoe and holly, by the way. Just beauifully detailed. :holly:

True facts! I wonder where the confusion began? Besides....mistletoe doesn't smell quite as good as holly...anyhow, you colored them pretty well! :D

Probably because you see holly more often used as Christmas decoration, but you hear about mistletoe more often in songs and such... so they figured that must be it? I can't believe I never noticed the smell enough to be able to call it to mind... I shall have to take particular notice this year!

Ahh, I see. Well, the main reason I noticed the smell is because...Yankee Candle's scented candles with mistletoe as a main scent do not smell good at all in my opinion. And their scents are spot-on, so yeah.

Hmmm... I generally don't trust scented candles to be accurate... the ones called "Snow" NEVER smell ANYTHING like snow! But if you vouch for Yankee, all right.

I'm still gonna smell the misteltoe this year. :plotting:

The main reason I do so is because all their other scents match up (well...except for "Snow" and stuff like that. That's a little rough) as far as food/plants/the like go.

I ought to find some and do so myself and be 110 percent positive that I'm right...

This is something I'd enjoy investigating! If someone could get the smell of snow that'd really be something.

It sure would! Some Yankee Candles have gotten close to atmospheric scents, though they usually mix their "snow" scents with vanilla or something...

I went to a Yankee candle store the other day and I actually preferred their mistletoe candle to their holly one! Weird huh? :D

I just had this conversation with somebody in my art class last week--I was drawing some mistletoe for some picture, and then one of the art threes told me I should 'add some red berries so it looks more like mistletoe'.
